Writershire.com Review

So I’m known as a provocative freelance designer but freelance writing is something I’ve only recently started doing. I mainly focus on blog post and article writing and when I started I had a tough time landing freelance jobs of any kind. Writing is not like design, I repeat, it is NOT like design. The writing industry is xxx times more populated and it’s not at all a level playing field, if you’re a new writer trying to squeeze into the game, then you’re pretty much tough out of luck.

(on a side note, Angel also wrote about her 1 year anniversary with writershire a while ago that you guys should check out!)

But I can’t say enough about Writershire.com who I found via a google search. You see, after looking high and low for people willing to hire someone like me (little to no experience, just a God given gift to write interesting articles I suppose) I decided to find a writing company, publishers, someone that hired freelancers and assigned them projects. I found www.writershire.com

Paradise for Men

Is there such a thing as a Paradise for men? No really, this is a serious question one that many, MANY men ask in hopes of finding a legitimate answer. So, is there a paradise for men and if there is, where is it, and what’s the catch…because lets face it, these days, with almost anything that sounds too good to be true…yeah you know the rest.

Well, there is, and I’m not going to just advertise where it is, nor am I going to keep mention it over and over, I’m simply going to direct you to a book I read (No i did not write it…)

The site: http://www.theparadiseformen.com

See here’s the thing, I came across it while simply searching to find the paradise for men, and the site was right there. I checked out the site, and feel free to do the same to confirm what I’m about to go on about, but I couldn’t for the life of me find out WHERE the place was, I read a lot of hype about ‘the paradise for men’ that I was suppose to believe existed and much more, but nowhere did it state the place, which sort of annoyed me.

paradise for men

I had to buy the book to find out where the paradise for men was located, you know, what country etc. After browsing on other sites that echoed the same thing over, I came back to this particular site, which simply markets a book, written by someone like you, and me, that happened across this paradise. So I bought the book and bit the bullet.

Wisconsin Graphic Designer – Jared Lunde

Jared Lunde is slowly becoming a popular name in the Online Graphic Design & Web Development industries while keeping the general mystique to it all, and for the past few years, Jared Lunde has built a name for himself in the Logo Design industry in Madison, Wisconsin and generally online too.

Having worked with clients such as Taylor Meade, Zalula, and The Wisconsin Student Lobby, Jared has excelled to the top of the food chain and is slowly securing a reputation as one of the more successful Logo/Graphic Designers in his industry. What makes him a bit special is the fact that he’s multitalented and takes on projects as lead designer/developer whenever he’s hired. And while he is quick to downplay this uniqueness, he has not been afraid to capitalize on it, remaining quite the humble individual. The Wisconsin Logo Designer is on a role!

nswfieryfunctions.com.au | Cruising PT Weddings

Cruising PT Weddings has finally gone live (check NSW Fiery Functions), and I couldn’t be happier. While I know everyone is so traditional and into the whole White Limo weddings etc, in this day and age, PT Cruisers is where it’s at, pure and simple. Chrysler PT Cruisers all the way!

BrandStack Fails: Shit Stack

Update: There has been dozens of recent articles from designers and clients protesting about Brandstacks appalling behavior. Not only are some designers on their ripping off designs and selling them, but Brandstack is knowingly selling plagiarized work, rendering the potential buyers vulnerable to law suits or worse. Below are some of the links:

Brandstack the Silent Killer
Brandstack: Unmoderated, unprofessional and unworthy
Why I pulled my logos from Brandstack today
Brandstack Ripping Off Designers
Why I Hate Brandstack

Again and again, when will they learn? The now newly designed, newly named site BrandStock, no sorry that’s BrandStack… has managed to suck more than it’s predecessor, IncSpring. It’s not only made up of images, 95% of it is anyway, it also lost the few points incsprings designed had managed to scrape. Then they name it BrandStack (yes i linked to them, because I care)…excuse me while I ram my face into a blender. What were they thinking? You think the worst is over? No, you see BrandStock, or wait, is it BrandStack? Whatever it is called now, they have a logo that the owner previously bought off Incspring, the same site, try to keep up. Well that logo is just, well go look at it, please.

Whove – Strong Presence

If you have always wanted to have a strong, charismatic presence that other people admire, Develop A Strong Presence is the book you need to grab.

Here’s why:

Respect-commanding charisma is given to you by nature. All you have to do to unlock it is to have “the key” – the behavior of the “alpha” person.

Saleh Alajji for the last 14 years has been researching a way of unlocking that seductive, powerful charisma at will. He has worked with ambassadors, top positioned government officers, CEOs, general managers… people who must have a strong presence in order to lead, command respect and achieve results.

Finally he discovered the secret, that valuable secret can be found in his latest book, the book you need to get your hands on!

Best Logos

Some of the Best Logos online are without a doubt, mine. I know how that sounds, but a little arrogance goes a long way in the design industry, trust me. So to many logo designers this post will be taken wrong, only a few may ever get it’s real purpose but this is why, I think my logos are among the best logos online today.

best logos loved

These ones are also among my best logo designs that received the most appreciation from the clients. I guess I did so well a job in their opinion (the only opinion that really matters is your clients) that they both have decided to keep in touch with me since.

They’re unique, one of a kind and for the most part, logo designs no one could have thought of but me, then again most logo designs done by talented designers these days are very much the same way, except their stuff is no where near as funky or unique as my work, because I obviously make the best logos online, which in a way makes me one of the best logo designers out there. Hate me yet?

Teen Logo Designer

I’m rarely impressed when it comes to graphic and logo design, but this time it’s different. Now i know what a lot of people have been saying about this young girl, they’re saying;

So what’s the deal, she’s 16years old, and into design, who cares?

The design community care, people who are still passionate about what they do care. This girl, at 16 years old is not only designing logos at a professional level, she’s also doing everything in her power to spread the word among other teenagers, that if they want, they can do it too. So she’s not only bettering herself in all this but trying to help others, at just 16.  That’s the deal.

The girl is obviously mature for her age, although at times she may act like she’s just 16, which is ok, because she is! Her designs speak for themselves, mastering such raw talent at such a young age, she has received praise from some of the top logo designers online, she’s starting to get feature slots on many sites and all this in the past couple days when she designed and developed her first site Julie Kapral and her Teen Design Blog.

T-Shirt Design Contest

What a fake contest. I was named the winner of the below fake contest and then not awarded anything, I send the contest starter a PM with my paypal ID and nothing. Some forum that is, they don’t have anyway of protecting us designers, I think it’s appalling. If they’re to hold a contest forum they should add the necessary software, take payment from end user, when winner is selected forward it to winner, take a slice of the pie, that’s how professionals do it. Not like this fake contest forum at V7N.

Recently I joined the V7N Forums. I got to know old friends and met a few new ones in a very short period of time, the community there is by far one of the friendliest I have ever been on. Although it lacks a professional presence and those with knowledge on there could probably be counted on one hand, it’s looking bright as mods and admins are gearing towards a change, a big change I have been told.

I have been reading up on some topics, although few in number some are rather informative, and then I ran into a new contest. It was a T-Shirt Design Contest and after reading the topic starters post, I decided to join and test peoples art abilities on these forums. My entry did not take time to finish and the concept pretty much hit me in the face, it was not at all hard or thought provoking, rather simple, it’s message too was direct and to the point.

v7n tshirt design contest kangaroo

The contest is still open and I’m not sure if i’ll win, so far there has been 4 or 5 design entries including mine with a few people working on it still, so who knows. I do hope I win as the prize is $300, and even though to some that’s not a lot, for me it’s a good month worth of living.

Wish me luck.
